The 8th of October 2011 marked the date of the most anticipated career fair of the year – The GRADUAN-MASCA Recruitment Drive. GRADUAN serves as a platform for overseas students to find out about the current job situation in Malaysia and also to seek employment from potential employers. This is the 7th year GRADUAN has come to Melbourne and it is definitely the grandest one yet with over 19 companies participating this year!
Present on the day were the company directors, HR units and CEOs who talked to students about the opportunities working with them and also providing invaluable career advice. Students who were lucky even had walk-in interviews and immediately began competing for placements in their selected companies. During the event there were also company presentations which gave a fantastic outlook on the company’s background, achievements and also an overview of on-going projects.
Students who handed in their resume before GRADUAN were preselected and had the privilege of securing interviews with company executives and directors. Many students were glad to receive offers ranging from internships to full-time placements and graduate programmes from the companies.
The GRADUAN-MASCA Recruitment Drive has given a glimpse of what Malaysian companies have to offer to students abroad. Many of these companies are not only recognized in Malaysia, but also internationally!
